DESCRIPTION: Small, creeping, marshy herbs with branches 20 cm or more long. Leaves short petioled, oblong - cuneate to obovate. Flowers solitary, axillary, white or purple tinged. Capsules ovoid..
DISTRIBUTION: This species is globally distributed in the Pantropics. Within India, it is said to be common in moist places throughout, ascending to an altitude of 1320 metres.
CULTIVATION: It can be easily grown in damp areas on a variety of soils. Th eplant can be propagated by seeds and also vegetatively by cuttings. It requires wet and marshy soil
